In 2004, RealFood’s president, Ed Doyle undertook a very exciting new partnership. Dale and Thomas (then known as Popcorn Indiana) sought operational support to create a plan for their swift growth within the snack food industry.
Doyle undertook several operational initiatives with the company, including new product development, training and quality control which all set a sound foundation for the company’s rapid growth. Working with the operating team, Doyle and RealFood played critical roles in new store design, equipment specification and procurement and ingredient specifications.
In March of 2005, Doyle represented Dale and Thomas on the Today Show. From that point forward, Doyle was known as Dale and Thomas’ “Chef Ed,” their first and only popcorn chef. As the representative for this dynamic brand, Doyle continues to make national media appearances, conducts interviews and has been involved with multiple commercials, voice-overs and public appearances. Other appearances include the View, Fox, CNBC, National Geographic and CNN.
Doyle plays a critical, ongoing role working with the in-house lab team to develop cutting edge new products to continue to support the brand’s rapid growth. Dale and Thomas now has a strong web and wholesale presence, and has grown from just two locations in New York City to 13 stores nationwide and a 125,000 square foot production facility.
